 | Funda Tarakcioglu was born in 1955 in Istanbul. At the beginning of 1980`s she began her art career by taking history of art and painting lessons in Germany (Koln). After returning to Turkey, she began doing ceramic and sculpture works at the Bosphorus University. She founded her own workshop in Arnavutkoy in 1997.
She collects covers of worn-out wood, frames and engraved old pieces from bazaars and antique shops to use them in her paintings also to give them new life. These pieces give richness to her paintings which are done by mixed media on canvas technique.
She has participated in 23solo and several group exhibitions and still continues her work of art in her atelier in Ulus. She is a member of UPSD. |
